1 Samuel 2:9a, ESV
He will guard the feet of his faithful ones
Psalm 37:23, NIV
The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him
Psalm 121:3, NIV
He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber;
We often think of God as our Protector, but do we fully understand that He is also the Protector of our steps?
He guards our feet.
He makes our steps firm.
He won’t let our foot slip.
We talked about this from a different angle last week, but I just can’t get it off my heart right now—so we’re going to talk about it again. :)
One of the most common fears I hear from teens and young adults is that they are going to miss what God has for them. And I think a lot of us “seasoned” adults struggle off and on throughout our lives with the same fear.
There are times when following God can feel like putting together a puzzle—and, because of this, it can sometimes feel like if we can’t figure out a piece of the puzzle, then we’re going to completely mess up the final picture.
But that’s just not how God works.
If there's a place where we’re stuck, then we must simply lay that piece down and wait—continuing on with the pieces we know. And eventually, that part of the picture will come together as God leads us one piece at a time.
One step at a time.
Yes, God allows us to make choices along the way, but ultimately—when we are following Him and seeking His will—He will be faithful to lead us along the path He has for us. God is the great Orchestrator of our steps, even working our mistakes into His purposes.
God is the Director of our steps and the Protector of our steps.
God will not let your foot slip.
