The Day In-Between

There has been a message burning in my heart today.

Today is Holy Saturday—the day in-between. The day in-between the Cross and the Resurrection. The day in-between the devastation and the revelation.

Maybe you feel like you’re living in the in-between right now. Maybe you feel like something has died—hope, trust, expectation, something (or someone) you were believing for—and you haven’t yet seen the life that’s promised on the other side. You haven’t seen the resurrection that’s coming tomorrow.

This is the message in my heart for you today…

It was finished on Friday. So today, just rest.

It was finished on Friday. Before Jesus gave up his spirit, he said “it is finished.” Paid in full. The debt of sin was paid. Sin and death were defeated. The gap between man and God was bridged. It was finished. It hadn’t yet been revealed on earth through the resurrection, but in the heavenlies, it was finished.

You may not yet be able to see the resurrection of hope and promise and joy and freedom on the other side of your pain, but know that it is finished. And when the time is right, you will see it. The number “three” in scripture is one of the numbers symbolizing completion. God will reveal the resurrection—the fulfillment of his promises—on your third day.

So when we’re in-between the death and the resurrection, the devastation and the revelation, what do we do?

Rest and worship.

It was no coincidence that the day in-between the cross and the resurrection was Saturday—the Sabbath. This was the day of rest and worship, the day set apart by God as “holy.”

So if you’re in the in-between, just rest. Just worship. Your day in-between is holy. It’s set apart as unto the Lord. And remember, the resurrection is coming tomorrow!
