Just Keep Floating

Genesis 8:3-4

The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

Noah floated around for five months—a hundred and fifty days to be exact—without knowing where he was, where he was going, or where he would land. Nor did he know when he would land. He was just floating around, waiting on God for whatever was next, completely helpless to speed up any sort of process himself.

Oh my goodness, how often have we found ourselves in a situation that feels like this?!

Sometimes we feel like we’re stuck floating around when we just want to land already. But all the while, God was positioning Noah exactly where he needed to be so he would land in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Noah could have drifted halfway across the world, but God kept him right where He wanted him. He wasn’t floating around aimlessly, even though there may have been days he felt like it.

So today, if you feel like you’re floating around aimlessly—unsure of when or where you’re going to land—may Noah’s story help you remember that God has you right where He wants you. May it give you hope that at just the right moment you’ll come to rest at exactly the place He has for you.

Just keep floating;)
