Are We a Refreshment to Others?

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32‬:‭2,‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

This verse is describing righteous leaders.

Since leadership is influence—and we all have influence wherever we’re planted—then this verse should be the description of every Christian.

Would others consider us a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm?

Would others consider us like streams of water in a dry place?

Would others consider time with us like relief from the heat of doing life in a weary world?

Let’s ask ourselves these questions with an open heart before the Lord.

And, if we discover that the answer is “no”—or even “sometimes,” dependent upon the people, the place, or our circumstances—then may we repent and ask the Lord to create this change in us.

Oh Lord, thank You that YOU are these things for us. Do a work within us, then, that we would give to others what we receive from You. Amen.
