It’s Time to Stop Mourning Saul‬‬ 🤍

1 Samuel 16:1, NIV

The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

I write this week’s message with weightiness in my heart. About a month ago I heard the Lord whisper the words stop mourning Saul to my spirit as I was thinking about upcoming Tuesday Truths.

I say this with so much love in my heart (because I’ve been there!), but I believe God is calling people who may still be grieving an old assignment, season, or person to fill your horn with oil and be on your way—carry your anointing, walk in your purpose, and move on.

There's more ahead of you.

Grief and mourning are absolutely biblical, but we can’t get stuck there. God continually has more for us to walk into—more of our calling, more places to go, more people to meet. But in order to get to a new place, we have to leave behind the place we’re at. No one can walk forward and stay put all at the same time.

Advancement requires moving on.

Oh Lord, please help us to stop mourning the “Sauls” of our life. Please help us to carry our anointing, walk in our purpose, and move forward into the new things you have for our life. Amen.
